Admission of Children to Hardwicke

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you wish to register your child for admission to Hardwicke   Parochial   Primary School , you are invited to make contact with the school in the first instance and to attend one of our two open afternoons. These take place during the autumn term of each academic year. 

 

The admission number is 60.  Parents will be notified of places to be offered via the Local Education Authority on March 2007.

 

Admissions are the responsibility of the Governors.  If there are more applications than places, the Governors have drawn up and adopted the following order of priority for admission.  In the event of over-subscription pupils will be admitted by reference to the following criteria in order of priority.

 

 

Admission Criteria

 

The School Governors’ criteria for admitting children are as follows:

 

1)     Children in public care (looked after children)

 

2)     Children of families who live in the parish of Hardwicke (a map of the ecclesiastical parish may be inspected at school) and whose parents have active connections* with St. Nicholas Church, Hardwicke.

 

3)     Children who have an older brother or sister attending Hardwicke   School at the time of admission.

 

4)     Children of families who live in the parish of Hardwicke whose parents have active connections* with other local Christian churches belonging to Churches Together in England .

 

5)     Children of families who live in the ecclesiastical parish of Hardwicke and live closest to Hardwicke   School (distance measured in a straight line by the Local Education Authority).

 

6)     Children of families living outside the parish of Hardwicke whose parents have active connections* with a Church of England Church.

 

7)     Children of families living outside the parish of Hardwicke whose parents have active connections* with another church belonging to Churches Together in England .

 

8)     Children of families who live outside the parish of Hardwicke and live closest to Hardwicke   School . As in point 4.

 

*Active connections means being on the electoral or membership roll of the church.

 

 

In the event of over subscription, parents of pupils not offered a place will be advised of the appeals procedure.  In the first instance contact should be made with the school.
